Inexpensive Landscaping Ideas For Your Garden

You want your garden to reflect your personality and personal style, and it’s achievable for you to create the perfect landscape outside your window without it having to be expensive or highly complex to create. The materials can be easy to source, low maintenance and you’ll find there are lots of plants out there which are easy to take care of during the winter months.

Look at the space you have in your garden and think about how you’d like to use it, is there a part of it you enjoy spending time in? Also, give some consideration to the front garden, does it have any kerb appeal? If not, it may be worth spending time on that too, after all, should you decide to sell in the future you’ll want it too look as good as possible. There’s nothing worse than an unkempt appearance at the front of your house. Let our landscape gardeners in West Lothian help you.

Paving

You could use paving for the back garden and the front, creating a path, and it doesn’t have to be brand new either, why not use recycled, second hand or broken paving and create a mosaic? You can line the path with plants on either side, perennials and herbs to create a fragrant pathway to your door.

Cuttings

You can use cuttings from other people’s gardens too, they can really help you to create a garden cheaply without the expense. You could really jazz up your garden, front and back, without having to visit a nursery for brand new plants. If you have friends who are keen gardeners, they may also have old pots which you can use for your plants, again without having to go out and buy them brand new.

Containers, pots, colours

You can also use other containers instead of just flower pots. You could use anything you have lying around the house, such as barrels, old tires, pallets or wine crates even. Each one will add depth and something unique to your garden. It will give it a really cool focal point as people enter your garden too.

You can also take the pots you’ve been given by friends and paint them a bright and unusual colour, don’t just stick with one colour either, use maybe two or three different colours, mix them up with metallic perhaps for a unique colour scheme.

Grasses and gravel

A combination of gravels and grasses will also help you create the perfect garden, it can add something a little more dynamic and give your garden a luxurious look which will set it apart. Ornamental grasses can help add texture and colour to the garden as well as being a low-maintenance addition that’s easy to look after. Gravel will help if you have a lot of foot traffic, where people can walk rather than risk standing on plants and grasses. It also helps give it a modern, contemporary look.
