Getting Your Garden Ready For Summer

If you’re looking forward to summer and sitting out in the garden, then naturally you’ll be wanting to tidy your garden up in time for those long relaxing afternoons and evenings. As you survey your garden you realise that you need to tidy it up a bit, prepare it and make sure it’s tidy enough for public view. If you’re going to be entertaining then you the garden to look perfect. In our post today, we’re going to be talking about how you can get your garden perfect for the summer months.

Keep Your Lawn in Good Condition

Make sure you keep your lawn in tip-top condition by feeding it with lawn feed, granular feed that will give it that little oomph. If it’s looking a little bedraggled it may take a while before it perks up. If you’ve left the lawn feed until late, it’ll need a lot of attention, but there’s no reason why it can’t recover in time.

It’s Never Too Late For Colourful Flowers

Take the mower to your lawn and trim the edges in preparation for those long summer months. Plant some perennials too so that there’ll be fresh splashes of colour in the middle of summer.

Patio and Bird Tables

Clean your patio if you have one. Use a pressure washer to get rid of algae and moss and rid your patio of any other debris. Also wash the table and chairs too in the same way. Try doing this a few days before guests are due to arrive so your patio and garden furniture are fit to sit on. Clean bird tables so you’ll attract more wildlife to the garden, and cut back on bushes if you have any.

Light the Way and Create Ambience

Lighting can be supplied by solar lighting, with tea lights strategically placed to hang from trees, tea lights can be placed in something as simple as jam jars or old cheesecake jars. A gazebo is also a great addition to the garden and will be fabulous to sit in on warm balmy evenings.
